Not in My Name.???

From The Guardian April 15th 06

Donald Rumsfeld was directly linked to prisoner abuse for the first time yesterday, when it emerged he had been "personally involved" in a Guantánamo Bay interrogation found by military investigators to have been "degrading and abusive".

Human Rights Watch last night called for a special prosecutor to be appointed to investigate whether the defence secretary could be criminally liable for the treatment of Mohamed al-Qahtani, a Saudi al-Qaida suspect forced to wear women's underwear, stand naked in front of a woman interrogator, and to perform "dog tricks" on a leash, in late 2002 and early 2003. The US rights group said it had obtained a copy of the interrogation log, which showed he was also subjected to sleep deprivation and forced to maintain "stress" positions; it concluded that the treatment "amounted to torture".

Faith, Hope and Cocoa..?

Just watched the parade of Easter Flagellants whipping themselves until they bleed to identify with gentle Jesus....then astonished to spot a news story about the face of God appearing in a chocolate stain on a cocoa mug. So good to know that Christianity has such intellectually superior followers who wouldn't dream of believing nonsense- like it being wrong to picture the Prophet...or eat pork or be born into a caste or wear a dagger in their sock.... As a convert to Yogic flying...I smile at these unenlightened people.

As no less than SIX generals demand that Donald Rumsfeld resign...he gets a ringing endorsement from the boss..

White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters "the president believes Secretary Rumsfeld is doing a very fine job during a challenging period".

Still alive

Sorry not to have posted for so long. I AM alive and kicking...and rather lost the will to Blog.... a sort of feeling of "what's the point?" I either get dopey spam about great share opportunities or preach to the converted in my readership of chums....or preach to the perverted in the case of Tony from Oz. I would like to repeat though that if you have a taste for poetry without frills straight from the heart....visit Tony's blog....some excellent stuff there.

Meanwhile John Reid feels UK troops are hampered in handling terrorists by outdated stuffy old rules and regulations like the Geneva Convention...which barely mentions the fun that can be had by suspending prisoners over buckets of excrement or terrifying them with vicious dogs or baking...boiling..starving...freezing them etc....all part of the march of freedom...the triumph of democracy .... onward Christian soldiers etc................
