Let's have a Killing Spree !

There is a UK magazine called "The Field " aimed at "countryfolk" and their "country sports" Naturally it's packed with pictures of huntin' shootin' and fishin' types and I detest just about everything it stands for. This month's issue is particularly objectionable . An article challenges readers to beat their own effort of killing 18 different species in a single day. Obviously they include all the creatures that they usually have fun blowing to pieces, but urge their readers in a slavering bloodlust not to overlook quarry like moorhens and moles and shoveller ducks....oh...and mice. What fun.......the real guardians of the countryside eh? I wonder if some aspiring PhD student might throw some light on this by analysing the comparative sizes of their weapons.

The White House has allowed the CIA to use practices such as mock drowning of prisoners, which would almost certainly be considered unacceptable under the terms of the convention, our correspondent says.

Mock drowning.....that means fixing them to a plank and forcing them under water repeatedly until their lungs are bursting and they choke and vomit.... wow how can anyone call that torture..

Some former detainees have alleged they were part of a US network of "ghost flights" and secret prisons run by the CIA around the world.

They claim they were subjected to beatings, electric shock treatments and solitary confinement during their detention.

Ms Rice has admitted that terror suspects are flown abroad for interrogation under a process called rendition, but denied they were tortured.
So...why take them...? Probably thought a sight seeing trip would make them feel so grateful to Uncle Sam that they'd co-operate..........
